2007 Review
Before the 2006 season, Papelbon was a candidate for a rotation spot or a spot in the bullpen. He

ended up being the best closer in baseball. Before the 2007 season, Papelbon was suppose to be

moving to the starting rotation. A week before the season, the Red Sox decided that they needed a

closer, so Papelbon once again became Boston's closer. He had a great first half to the year.

After the All-Star break, he was even better. Left-handers hit .104 against him.

2008 Outlook
With his phenomenal success as a closer, I doubt the Red Sox will even entertain the idea of

making Papelbon a starter. Expect 35+ saves, an ERA under two, and a few riverdances.
